Unboxing Malifaux - 'Through the Breach' Multi-Part Minis

Amongst the many items in the 'Through the Breach' Kickstarter were the Multi-Part Mini kits to enable you to create your own RPG characters though they also contain a wealth of spare parts with which to customise your other Malifaux minis...or any other humanoid scale 28-32mm minis for that matter...

The kits come in separately purchasable male and female versions though the female versions are slightly taller on average than the male ones.

This is the packaging for the Kickstarter version though the packaging differs for the commercially available version.

They look more like this in fact...

The kits contain one sprue and a bag of 30mm bases. I'm sure you all know what a bag of bases looks like but just in case...

...now lets get straight to the sprue.

Male Multi-Part Kit Sprue.
The detail is quite nice so I've shown pictures of both sides...

Female Multi-Part Kit Sprue.
The detail is quite nice so I've shown pictures of both sides...

Here's some of the models you can create using the kit courtesy of Wyrd Games...

...and a few more mixed in with some standard Malifaux minis (so you can compare the scale) courtesy of Titan Games...

For those of you less familiar with Wyrd Games's product range the models created with the Multi-Part kits have red arrows above them and the green arrows are over ones made from standard starter sets and boxes.

The amount of parts crammed onto the sprues is incredible and it will also be an ideal kit should you wish to create proxies for existing models or make female versions of male characters (or vice versa).

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

  1. I wish I had backed TTB... Well, at least I ordered the male set during Gencon, these look very nice and I'm sure the bits will come in handy.

  2. How would you say they compare to non Wyrd miniatures? Would the bits be good scale for doing mods on other lines of figures?

    1. They're fine for any model range that uses actual human proportions. The more stylised minis that Games Workshop and similar produce wouldn't be very compatible though imo.
