Unboxing Malifaux - M2E Pigapult

Apparently most raw materials are in short supply in the Bayou...apart from pigs...they're apparently everywhere...

The Pigapult box contains enough parts for one two-part miniature...namely the Pigapult. It also contains a stat card for it though there are no upgrade cards.

The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned cards...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures by clicking on them. Wyrd Miniatures also seem to have stopped putting instructions in things and instead give you a leaflet with a web address on it that leads to a number of links...and sometimes they dont even bother with that, lol. So I've put them here for your convenience. Just click on it for a larger version...

Stat Card.
Since I got in trouble for making freely available things that Wyrd Games would much rather sell you here's the front of the stat card only, lol.

Assembly Instructions - General
The Pigapult and the Gremlin pulling the lever are separate pieces so you could in theory put the Gremlin anywhere as the lever pulling hand is simply reaching back so doesn't actually need to be placed on the lever if you don't wish to. The following pictures therefore will show the assembled Pigapult and the assembled Gremlin separately before showing them together.

Pigapult - Assembled
It's not as bad as you might be expecting. There are very few tiny parts on the Pigapult itself (there's a few on the Gremlin) and their locations are fairly obvious. As with any kit that is effectively two sides linked by cross-pieces, dry-fitting is a good idea initially as it's possible to slightly angle the afore mentioned cross-pieces which will make the complete model lopsided...unless that's the effect you're going for I suppose...

Here's some close-ups of the pig. Some of the joins are a bit obvious so may require a bit of filler and the mould lines are a bit obvious so prepare for a little scalpel work. The pig is also a fairly separate sub-assy so you could if you really wanted to put something else on the catapult...I don't see why you'd want to...but you could...

Gremlin - Assembled
His head is in three parts which is a pain but isn't much of a challenge to even an inexperienced modeller and there's a helpful centrally placed 'pip' so you don't misalign them. His arms are thin but fix to the model in the correct place without any issues.

Pigapult Comparison Pictures
The new model is (in my opinion at least) much nicer than the original (it certainly went together more easily) but is a bit smaller overall in scale which may bother some people. It does now fit on the 50mm base though...

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
