Unboxing Malifaux - M2E Coryphee

'Two heads are better than one......'

The Coryphee box contains enough parts for two miniatures...namely the Coryphee though they can also be assembled on the larger base as a single Coryphee Duet. It also contains stat cards for both options though there are no upgrade cards.

Coryphee - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it split into two pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them...

Coryphee - Stat Cards
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Coryphee - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Coryphee 1- Assembled
The head is quite small but other than that this model should give you no problems. Though the blade arms aren't as delicate as you might think but still need to have some care taken with them.

Mine is lightly tacked to the base and will be pinned later so I can also use it as one half of a Coryphee Duet.

Coryphee 2 - Comparison Picture
Here's a comparison picture between the new plastic and original metal version. I attached the original ones foot to a 'barrel' and then inserted a pin into the barrel as the foot was too delicate to do so. This enables me to swap the two individual models onto a single base to form the duet and was not part of the original model...just so you know...

Coryphee Duet
As mentioned earlier these models can also be assembled as a Coryphee Duet. This just means assembling them as normal and then putting them on a 50mm base together. With some careful pinning it's also possible to go down the cheapskate path and leave both options open. One of mine has been tacked to the base for photography purposes but will be pinned later.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

  1. When I was assembling the #1/short/squatting Coryphee, I noticed that the picture (from Wyrd's site) showing piece placement was missing a piece. It doesn't show the front piece of her skirt. It is shown correctly assembled on your pics but not on the pic from Wyrd, which I find wierd.

    1. It's one of the reasons that I now do four different views rather just a front and back. Wyrd Games Instructions aren't exactly brilliant at showing where parts on the sides and back go...
